Rather taken with Tenby, and the pastel-coloured houses overlooking the harbour...

Permission...
Had a photographic day in Tenby, on the Pembrokeshire coast. A guy (not the guy painting his boat) starting waving a finger at me as I was taking pictures. "You need permission to do that", he said. "No I don't", I replied. Just for once I knew what I was talking about...
Into Wales...
I finished my tour of the West Country by taking the bridge over the Bristol Channel. While acclimatising myself to the 'dual language' road signs, I saw a sign: Away Fans. It took me a few seconds to realise it wasn't Welsh at all, and that I was just passing Cardiff City's stadium...

Eclipse of the sun...
I didn't realise an eclipse was imminent until I saw a couple of guys on the quay at Appledore, Devon, with some very expensive camera gear. The sun was (mostly) covered by the moon, it got (a bit) colder, it got (a bit) darker. And... that was about it. If eclipses happened every week, no-one would give them a second glance. I took a picture of this guy and his dog (which seems to share my excitement about the eclipse)...

Questionable taste...
I saw this 'roadside shrine', the 'slippery road' sign and the cars... and thought it would make an effective stock shot, on the theme of road safety. Or it may be just tacky and tasteless.
It's a recent phenomenon: creating these very public tributes. Was it the carpet of flowers, following the death of Princess Diana, that started the trend?

River at Dartsmeet...
The light may be crisp and clear, but the colour is only just beginning to return to the landscape. No obvious signs of spring in this shot...

Phone box...
Now that everyone has a mobile phone, the old, red telephone boxes are surplus to requirements. Some of them are escaping back into the wild...

Padstow...
Apparently it was Rick Stein who put Cornwall 'on the map'... which will be news to the fishermen who bring in the catch...

Mugged
A traumatic day... I was robbed, mugged in broad daylight. There was a
bunch of them; I didn't see it coming. I'd just taken the first bite
of a Cornish pasty (not even filling... just crust). Before I had the
chance to take another bite, the pasty was gone. No time for a photo;
this shot is all I have...

Beware of the snakes...
Stayed at Sennen Cove last night, with the waves crashing onto the beach. That base rumble was augmented, in the small hours, by thunder and lightning. The thunder and the waves combined to make one noise, not two: a fantastic, elemental racket. It was thrilling!
In the morning I walked around the cove, taking pix... including this lukewarm welcome...
