It took just five minutes, this morning, to do my civic duty. The polling station in Asselby is the back room of the village pub, just across the road from the Old Sunday School. I showed my photo ID and cast my vote. I doubt if my choice will do anything to alter the political landscape of this corner of the East Riding, but I live in hope.
